When displaying web sites using the FPSE2002 Server Administration web
page, in the right-hand column, all the web sites show as 'Extend' or
'Administration' except one which is blank.

To the left of this column is the version number 6.0.2.6353 which
signifies a 'disk based web site' It used to be a fully functional
FPSE2002 version 5.0.2.4803 web site, and I don't know how it got
converted to a disk-based web site.

How do I revert this web site back to FPSE2002 version 5.0.2.4803,
since there is no 'Extend' link to click on?

Hi,

This is because, the server based site is edited using frontpage 2003 as a
disk based one. To solve the problem, follow the steps .

1. Open home directory of the web site in windows explorer
2. open the _vti_pvt folder and open the service.cnf file in notepad
3. You can try changing the vti_extenderversion variable in the
service.cnf file in _vti_pvt folder to the current version of FPSE.

Hope this helps

Thanks, Hari.

I knew it had to be something obtuse.

Changing 'vti_extenderversion' did not fix the problem, but it allowed
me to access the web site using SharePoint whereby I could delete
FPSE2002 and re-install it. Everything seems to be back to normal
after the re-install.

I'm glad you responded. Thanks, again.
