I'm running WinXP Pro SP2 and FPSE 2002 (ver 6.0.2.6353 according to Front
Page 2003).

My site has a guest book which has never worked; submitting an entry on it
results in this message:
FrontPage Run-Time Component Page
You have submitted a form or followed a link to a page that requires a web
server and the FrontPage Server Extensions to function properly.

This form or other FrontPage component will work correctly if you publish
this web to a web server that has the FrontPage Server Extensions installed.

Click the <Back> arrow to return to the previous page.
So I went to IIS (ver 5.1) and used the Check Server Extensions option sor
my site and received this message:
"The server administration programs and the server extensions on the web
server are not compatible. The administration program is too old to use with
this server."

I have removed the server extensions, uninstalled and reinstalled FPSE 2002,
but nothing seems to resolve this error.

Any suggestions? I have already read the Microsoft KB article on this and it
does not resolve my problem.

To view the Site Administration page

• If you are a server administrator, on the server computer click
Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, click Microsoft
SharePoint Administrator, and then on the Server Administration page, click
the name of the site you want to manage.

• If you are a site administrator, on your Web site click Site
Settings, and then under Web Administration, click Go to Site
Administration.


To run a server health check

1.
Open the Site Administration page for the virtual server you want to
check.

2.
In the Server Health area, click Check server health.

3.
In the Detect and Repair area, select the Detect and Repair check boxes
for any server health actions you want to perform.

If you only want to check for problems, but not fix them, do not
select the Repair check box for that action.

4.
Click OK.

I can't get to the Sharepoint Admin page. It asks me for a username and
password, but nothing I try will allow me access.

It's directing me to:
http://192.168.0.102/_sharepoint/fpadmdll.dll

I have a wireless router also, and I manually assigned the 192.168.0.102 IP
address in IIS. I run DNS2GO and have it set to direct all http requests to
that IP address.

A username and password form pops up. I tried using admin/password, also
admin/admin, finally admin and no password. None will work for me.

I know I must be missing something small...at least I hope.

I appreciate feedback. Any suggestions at this point?

How are you opening your web?  Using http://localhost/webname (or
http://192.168.0.102/webname) or c:\inetpub\wwwroot\webname  ?

The extensions version 6.0.2.6353  are the runtime extensions used for a
disc based web, and forms will never operate under those extensions.

The Userid and password required are the site administrators that were input
when the server extensions were configured for the website.
