Does anyone know of the best way to send a backup to another site ? I
want to do this in case a disaster occurs and a remote backup would be
ideal. The only thing is that I am not sure of the different ways that
this can be acheived.

Thanks in advance

Depends on the amount of data. For large amounts of data, shipping
tapes by mail/express/truck is the most cost effective way - yeah, it's
low tech, but you don't want to pay for a fast WAN line just for
backup, unless the sites are close and you can access a physical fiber
that's underutilized and the carrier will give you bandwidth for cheap.
Just make sure you package the media properly - transport damage is a
hassle and is easily avoided. Don't forget to test the media at the
receiving site - get a good test method from the media or drive vendor.
Being able to read is only the beginning.

Low-tech solutions often do a very good job.

But it realy depends on your needs.

To give you a more specific advice I would need some more info.

FTP backup seems to be the easiest way to accomplish this.
We have a module in our program that does backups to your remote FTP
site.
