Stefan
We will open a support call, but it may take a little while, at this stage.
(other pressures)
Anyway, something else I noticed today that may pinpont the problem:
I changed some settings in the "System" tab of the Server Config App. I then
browsed to that page that causes the 2000 odd queries to SQL server, and it
only kicked off about 20 odd queries.
I then refreshed the page in explorer, and then get the 2000 odd queries
(and slow page delivery time) again. This is reproducable, the very first
time I browse to that page after shanging settings (anything, even just
re-entering the password of the system acct), gets a fast response time, and
very little queries to the database. All subsequent browsing to that page
causes a flurry of SQL calls.
It appears to me that the flurry of SQL salls is asking SQL server if the
user has access to each and every posting in that channel, one-by-one. Two
things strance with this. One - It is a channel rendering, why check if I
have access tot he postings? Two - Why round trip to the database for each
and every posting? There is a much easier way to do it than that..
Thanks
David
