Anonymous Pre-Paid Visa Question |
 |
 |
|
|
03-02-05 10:45 PM
I sent a $400 money order to www.ultimate-anonymity.com for a $400 Pre-Paid
Visa card in a made up name, and a made up address (street addy and
zipcode) on the other side of the country. Beforehand I setup a gmail
account using an anonymous proxy so they do not know my real IP address.
I chose with UA to get the "virtual" Visa card via e-mail instead of the
physical card that they will actually mail to whatever address and name you
tell them to.
I just received my credit card details at the anon gmail address. My
question is, can I safley purchase online services now (assuming I visit
them through an anonymous proxy) anonymousley?
Seems pretty secure to me.
TIA

Very nice. I didnt know they offered anon visa cards. WWhat is the
minimum and maximum card amounts you can get? Are they reloadable?
I went to their website and it doesnt really give specifics to non-members.
As for your question, yeah, no doubt proper steps have been taken to be
anonymous. Really a good idea.
Thanks

Just remember that the anonymous proxy may log all connections. Their log,
along with logs from gmail, could identify your IP.

Based on the fact that gmail accounts are 'by invitation only', I
would strongly disagree with the assumption that "proper steps
have been taken to be anonymous" considering the original poster
did not state how he received his gmail invite.
If he received his invite in the usual way - from a friend (or a
friend, of a friend, of a friend...etc) OR if he has ever
received any email in this gmail account from ANYONE (including
test mail from himself) who knows his real life identity, then I
would say he has only achieved a very thinly veiled pseudo-anonymity
at best.

My question is: in this world of email accounts coming out of your ears,
WHY would ANYONE want one that you had to mooch "invitations" to sign up
for it... Especiall when you KNOW that google indexes EVERYTHING.. even if
it doesn't show up insearch results, you can bet they've got a secret deal
with Choicepoint or one of their competitors to sell them copies of all the
email going through their servers
doubt me?
Can you AFFORD to believe claims that it just ain't so?
NO.

I received my g-mail invite at one of my Yahoo email addresses which I
setup under a proxy and have ALWAYS signed in to check mail under a proxy
therefore never revealing a true IP addres to them. I have always checked
Gmail under a Proxy, through TOR or Cotses web Proxy so they (GMail) has
never seen a true IP address.
UA sent my Pre-Paid Visa details in a password protected self extracting
executable.
I agree, who knows what Google is doing however, they still dont know my
real IP address. WhenI setup the account, I sent test mails through the
normal anon remailers to it.

Minimum $25 Maximum $500.00. No cards are not reloadable, they can be used
until it reaches a zero balance then can be discarded.
Can get the card under any desired name and US address, and have the
physical card sent to any other name and US address desired, or have the
card details sent via a password proctected executable to an email address
"virtual card".
Pretty good to use for online purchases. Would be afarid I would get ID'd
using the physical card in a store since it is in a made up name.

True, but what if the proxy lies well outside US territory, like say in a
Country that is known not to openely share stuff with the US?
Whats the scoop on Sealand? Has anyone ever run a Proxy from there before?
Whats it cost to host from Sealand?

seems to me you should use a nym account and recieve your email
in alt.anonymous.messages
then you wont have to use gmail at all and be even more secure.
use quicksilver to set up the nym and send all messages to your
nym account thu tor to
your first mix remailer.
why not use tor/privoxy to make yourself even more
anonymous/secure when browsing
