Greetings!

I have MS visio Ent Arch 2003 installed on my system. Recently I'd installed
the Orchestration Designer fro Business User update, from the MS site. I'd
been able to create a Biztalk BA orchestration just once and ever since my M
S
Visio application is crashing at startup itself.

After installing ODBA update, visio is not opening any visio drawing.. It
simply crashes with a standard MS dialog. The event log reads:
Faulting application visio.exe, version 10.0.2420.4, faulting module sg.dll,
version 10.0.2420.4, fault address 0x00036e8f.

I've tried following actions to rectify the problem
1) Copy the same DLL from another machine with same s/w.
2) Re-installed the Office 10 Components as part of Biztalk pre-requisites
setup.
3) Re-installed MS visio Ent Arc itself.
But none of the above attempts (1-3) have been able to rectify the Visio
crash.

Am I missing out something or is there any other way out?

Thanks in advance.
Gaurav.

Hi Gaurav,
What version of visio do you have installed, is it 2003 or 2002? Based on
the file versions of Visio.exe and sg.dll, it looks like you have 2002
installed.

If you do have the visio 2002 please try installing visio 2002 SP2 (See the
KB article below).

http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;en-us;830242

The article mentions a crash in sg.dll similar to the one you are
describing that is fixed in visio 2002 SP2.

Thanks,
Dan
