I have a fresh install of win2k pro with all the latest patches installed. O
ne annoying feature is that if
I double click on my computer to get the folder of hard drives... when I try
 to drag and drop files onto
the C or D drive or even network drives all I get is a circle with a diagona
l line through it. Sometimes
if I open the hard disk I can drag it there, sometimes I can only paste file
s into the drive.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I searched around in google and found that hotfix 890047 was suspect. When I
 removed this hotfix (ignoring all the

warnings that poped up for all the software I had installed since) my drag a
nd drop functionality came back. This leaves me

wondering what I might have broken - since essentially all my software was i
nstalled after installing the hotfix... it is a fresh

build after all.



Thanks Microsoft for keeping me secure from outsiders, but leaving me vulner
able to my own mistakes.
