I have set up SSL on my default web site and have installed the certificate
generated by my internal certificate server. I am trying to connect some
company laptops to two virtual directories using Network Places. I can
connect OK (though I have to supply a username and password at the beginning
of each session). The problem is: whenever I try to open a file I am asked t
o
supply username and password again each time. How can I suppress this?

many thanks.

I'm assuming you do not want to allow anonymous access. You can try
enabling Windows Integrated authetnication, but I'm not sure if that won't
prompt as well. What exactly are you trying to do through network places?

Tom,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I am trying to give some roving laptop users access to network drives
without using a VPN. I need to authenticate the user and encrypt the traffic
.
