I am facing exactly the same problem. Our websphere portal run perfectly dur
ing several monthes and now we got the same error. I didn't find anything in
 this forum.

ERROR XSLAN: Database at  D:\WebSphere\PortalServer\cloudscape\wps
50 has an i
ncompatible format with the current version of the software.  The database w
as created by or upgraded by version 5.1.

I can tell you that we didn't upgrade the portal or the databases.
